Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) beat Uttarakhand 34-25 in the final to emerge champions in the 57th All-India Kabaddi Tournament, which concluded at Khanditara in Jajpur district today. The champion side received the top prize of Rs 50,000 and the runner-up outfit Rs 30,000. Earlier in the semifinals, CISF defeated Mumbai Police 40-22 and Uttarakhand got the better of Kolkata Police 32-19.
In the State Level Tournament, which was organised simultaneously by Jajpur Kabaddi Association, Barabati Club (Cuttack) clinched a double by bagging both the men`s and women`s titles. In the men`s final, Barabati Club vanquished Sambalpur 34-14. Barabati women triumphed after topping the league table. Kalinga Stadium team from Bhubaneswar finished runners-up.
The champion teams became richer by Rs 10,000 each and the runners-up Rs 7,000 each. Dharmasala MLA Kalpataru Das and State Sports Department Secretary Saswat Mishra gave away the trophies and cash prizes at the closing function. World Cup winning Indian women kabaddi team member Rashmita Sahoo was felicitated on the occasion.
